I have to buy that… x3!

When I first found out I was having triplets, I cried a lot and then bought too much from Craigslist and local garage sales. I have to say that shopping this way saved me so much money. I know, you might be thinking… gross, but you would be amazed at the awesome buys you can get.

Mom of Multiples... Money Saving Tips!

The thought of buying 3 cribs was enough to send me into panic. Luckily I already had 1 crib from my daughter, so now I just needed to find 2 more that matched, and there was craigslist. I found matching cribs from the same manufacturer and even a dresser and armoire.

I then started to hit the garage sales. I only bought clothes that were in excellent condition, and usually only spent .50 – $1 on each item. And the best part is that I turned around and sold everything for at least $1 at a local multiple resale.

So I guess what I’m saying is don’t panic. It will all work out. You can get Dr. Brown bottles for $1 apiece, which is great since you will need at least 15 of them. Don’t worry about fancy color coding bottles or bands, you can just save the rings from milk bottles to fit on the Dr. Brown bottles.

Every Penny Counts with Multiples!

Yeah, go ahead and calculate how many diapers a day you’ll need x3 and then look into buying cotton diapers, like bumGenius AIO’s (more on them in another post). I started when I was pregnant and bought a few here, few there, even registered for them and by the time the babies were born, I had plenty to get me through the day. Then when the babies grew out of the small size, I put them up on craigslist and sold them for about $2 less than I purchased them. It was totally AMAZING!

So anyway, there are so many things that I’ve learned the hard way, and I will try to share tips, tricks, and any information that I’ve learned so you can have a little easier time.

Since I’m just getting started with this blog, let me know if you’re looking for information on anything in particular, and I’ll get a post out to you soon.
